Anchoring AI Application Scenarios to Chart a New Blueprint for Intelligent Equipment
--- Shaoxing Wumu Technology Co., Ltd. Successfully Hosts "AI Strategy Workshop"

On October 9, Shaoxing Wumu Technology Co., Ltd. successfully held its "AI Strategy Workshop." The event featured eight course modules and eight interactive on-site sessions. The company's management team engaged in systematic learning on AI technology trends, enterprise application value, industry case studies, scenario identification, and implementation pathways, reaching preliminary consensus on scenario selection and implementation roadmap.

Aligning Perceptions: AI Must Enter Workflows, Not Merely Serve as a Tool

Since 2023, AI has undergone a fundamental transformation, now capable of understanding human intent, reading massive volumes of unstructured documents, and reasoning beyond ordinary human ability. While AI's value in enhancing individual productivity has been well validated, for it to truly deliver impact within an enterprise, it must be embedded into workflows, transform working methods, and reshape management mechanisms.

For specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative enterprises, AI serves as a capability amplifier that breaks the deadlock of "growth dependent on headcount expansion." AI initiatives should start from business value---revenue, profit, cost, speed, quality, and customer satisfaction---and work backward to identify scenarios. Through discussion, the company reached a collective consensus: priority resources will be invested in two value domains---"Growth & Customers" and "R&D & Engineering."

Layered Screening: 26 Scenarios Narrowed Down to 4 Finalists

The workshop moved from a broad overview to targeted focus. Participants selected from 26 highly relevant scenarios across five value domains; the top ten by value ranking advanced to a second round of evaluation. A three-gate funnel was then applied to assess each scenario layer by layer---whether it was valuable and urgent, whether it was suited to AI processing, and whether it could be executed immediately.

Ultimately, four scenarios stood out:

  • Intelligent search of R&D knowledge for electronic jacquard machines
  • Quality root cause analysis
  • Intelligent parsing of customer/RFQ requirements
  • Assembly anomaly diagnosis

The workshop emphasized launching with "small scenarios, limited scope, modest investment, lean teams, and short cycles," expanding scale only after value has been validated. Take quality root cause analysis as an example: the company can begin with anomaly analysis for a specific category of components, and once the process is proven, extend it to supplier quality early-warning---evolving from after-the-fact analysis to proactive, forward-looking alerts.

Starting Small: With Action, the Destination Will Be Reached

Going forward, Wumu will first identify efficiency-enhancing micro-scenarios through dedicated single-department workshops, followed by cross-departmental sessions to uncover collaboration-oriented scenarios. Together, these efforts will assess business value, AI applicability, and data readiness, setting the stage for a steady start to the company's AI transformation journey.

AI's role in the enterprise should extend beyond a mere productivity tool---it must be integrated into the operating system of the business, becoming an essential component of future competitiveness. The road ahead may be long and arduous, but with determined action, the destination will be reached.
